The moment I stepped foot on the island, I knew.... I knew I was some place special and that I would not want to leave. The energy, vibe and weather was different here. I felt an instantaneous connection and excitement. My curiosity grew as I strolled the streets that featured multicolored buildings and high energy locals. "Why have I not been here sooner!?", I thought to myself.
Aruba is a tiny Dutch Caribbean island off the coast of Venezuela and a part of what is known as the ABC islands. It's blond beaches and European influence in the architecture is astounding and certainly worth seeing. If you do decide to take a trip there, you must check out the local tours. I find that it is cheaper to buy a local tour once you get to the island verses booking it in advance with an agency. The local tour guides will negotiate with you and give you a reasonable price. Plus I rather support hard working locals that hustle each and every day in the heat.
Round trip flights to Aruba can cost as low as $341 and can go up as high as $1,400 of course depending on the season you decide to go. Believe it or not, summer time is not the highest peak season. It is Valentines week and the Christmas holiday. But regardless of what season you decide to go, I guarantee that you will have a fabulous time!. I certainly had a blast and my visit was too short. I will definitely be visiting again!
