Let’s be real, it can be hard navigating in a world with very high expectations of you. Whether it’s just friends expecting you to keep up with girl’s night on Fridays even though you have shared your financial goals and they know you are on a “noodle budget”, or your parents wanting you to pursue something you have absolutely no interest in. Or, maybe its that guy you are dating…. Yea let’s talk about it. What he is expecting of you does not align with who you are neither does it aligns with what he has earned. Sometimes us women need to slow down or even hit the breaks on what we offer to men who don’t deserve it. Never offer a man who deserves cold raviolis from a can a hot buffet style dinner. This will make him complacent in his pursuit because you have shown him that you are willing to extend yourself more than what he is willing to give.

Now, as we are trying to chase what everyone expects of us, this can affect us emotionally, financially, mentally, physically and even spiritually. Have you ever made that purchase even though you know you have higher priorities, but because you are trying to keep up with the Jones, you went ahead and made the purchase anyway? Decisions like these can put us in a financial bind if we don’t have the discipline to say no, not today, and walk away. Sometimes we just have stop chasing what will always be there and focus on what we ultimately want to achieve.

Now, back to the men who deserve cold raviolis.... from the can…... Stop chasing them. Point blank and several periods. You can’t force a man to see you as “wife material”. He either does or he does NOT, and if he doesn’t, it is OK. Simply close that chapter and keep it moving. Continue to work on you as an individual, the goals you are trying to achieve and who God has called you to be. You will never have to try to convince the man that God has for you that you are “The One”. And if you have ever been in that position, it’s OK… Girl, wash the shame off your face. It is never too late to get back up and start over. Remember that you are a Queen, you are beautifully and wonderfully made in God’s image, you are above and not beneath. There are many ways to lose ourselves, but one of the easiest ways is refusing to acknowledge who we truly are and what God has called you to be. Scriptures that you can read are (Psalms 139:13-14 and Galatians 1:10)
